"Swine Flu" (H1N1 Animal Strain)

Information regarding "swine" flu is changing almost daily. Tosa Pediatrics like other providers in town have seen numerous cases. Testing and/or treatment is done on a case by case basis. If you have concerns, as always, we suggest you contact us directly to speak with your doctor or one of our nurses. PLEASE NOTE: Due to insurance company regulations, we will be required to collect your standard office visit copay at the time of your visit for influenza vaccine administration effective January 1, 2009.

Flu shots: Influenza vaccine administration is complete for 2008-2009 but will resume in August 2009. Flu shots are available daily by "vaccine only" appointment. Certain age and health restrictions apply.

FluMist®: IS available and we expect to have adequate supply. Certain age and health restrictions apply.

Whooping Cough: Did you know that new moms should receive the new tetanus booster that also includes pertussis or "whooping cough" protection? Ask your OB or us for details.
